Definition


Benchmarking is the measurement of the quality of a hotel’s polices, products, strategies and so on, in comparison with standard measurements in hospitality or of neighboring lodging properties of the same rating. It is used (1) to determine what can be improved, where and how, (2) to analyze how similar organizations in the industry achieve their high performance levels, and (3) to use the collected information to improve performance.
